The Data-Center Networking Market

This dataset is a worldwide model of the data-center networking market. It counts what the buyer of the network pays for: Ethernet switch systems, InfiniBand switches, the scale-up fabric NVIDIA books as networking, host adapters, and Ethernet optical modules. NVIDIA and Arista are inside that total, and they are not the market by themselves. Merchant switch silicon, campus LAN, long-haul optical transport, GPUs, CPUs, memory, SSDs, and rack power are not in this dataset. Cisco’s wider networking category, $28.30 billion in fiscal 2025, includes campus and routing and is not added. The data is provided starting in 1994 and forecasts through 2032. In 2025, we estimate an $80.88 billion total market. From 2026 the same market is carried forward on three paths that share a downside, base, and upside case.

The market, 1994–2032

Line chart of the data-center networking market from 1994 to 2032. History and the base forecast are one solid line. Downside and upside branch after 2025 and end at $140 billion and $400 billion.

In 2025 the market reached $80.88 billion. Our base forecast is $112 billion in 2026 and $236 billion in 2032, a 16.5 percent compound rate from 2025, with $210 billion at the 2030 checkpoint. The downside case, a digestion path, ends at $140 billion. The upside case ends at $400 billion. On the base mix, Ethernet optics take a larger share of a larger market, moving from 22 percent in 2025 to 32 percent in 2032.

Data set details

The model. The market model counts the system, the module, and the adapter once each, at the price the buyer pays. Switch silicon that sits inside a system already counted is not a second revenue line. There is no single shipment census, because a switch, a pluggable module, and an adapter are different objects.

The forecast. The data is provided for revenue by year, segment, and vendor cluster. The forecast holds 2026 through 2032 for downside, base, and upside. All three paths share the 2025 market history. Scenarios change the total. The mix of segments is one path.

Key players. Seven clusters carry the 2025 dollars. NVIDIA, including Mellanox, is $31.38 billion. Optics specialists are about $18 billion. Arista is $9.01 billion. The data-center piece of Cisco is $6.50 billion. White-box ODMs are $5.50 billion. China vendors are $4.80 billion. Other switches and adapters are $5.70 billion. NVIDIA’s share of the total eases from 39 percent in 2025 to 31 percent in 2032 even as its dollars grow.

Key buyers and segments. The market is segmented into Ethernet switch systems, Ethernet optics, scale-up fabric, host adapters, and InfiniBand. On the base path, Ethernet switch systems are 43 percent of 2025 and 37 percent of 2032. Scale-up fabric is 17 percent, then 13 percent. Host adapters stay near 11 to 13 percent. InfiniBand eases from 6 percent to 4 percent. Dollars in every large segment still rise. Cloud companies that design networks are counted with the seller, not as a second market.

The products. NVIDIA’s catalog in this market is ConnectX, BlueField, Quantum InfiniBand, Spectrum, and the NVLink switch trays. Arista’s 7060 and 7800 families are the data-center systems. Host adapters outside NVIDIA include Intel’s E810 and AMD Pensando. Switch ASICs such as Broadcom Tomahawk are on the specification sheet and are not a separate revenue line. A blank speed or power cell means it was not published for that row.
